Sanderson Farms WWTP

  • Privately owned WWTP to treat 1.0 MGD from industrial waste stream
  • Major structures include both cast in place and pre-stressed concrete

Bates was chosen to construct a new 1.0 MGD wastewater treatment facility for a food processing plant located in Georgia.  The greenfield project consisted of all site grading and civil works, clarifiers, aeration basins and all yard piping and wwtp equipment to complete a working facility.  Pre-stressed concrete structures were specified by the engineer and installed under Bates’ direction for the aeration basin, clarifiers and anoxic basins.  Bates self-performed all cast-in-place concrete structures including plant pump station and numerous auxiliary structures.  Bates also self-performed all plant piping systems and treatment plant equipment installation including clarifier mechanisms, air piping, diffusers, etc.  Contract also included the construction of a new control building and laboratory and complete plant SCADA system.
